Your Ohm Studio client (OSC) doesn't work. Here are few tips to make it work. But please, send us your bugs report before to get round the issue (see how to report a bug)..
I launch Ohm Studio client application and it crashes immediatly or freezes.
The Ohm Studio scans vst plugins asap, even during login screen. If you have a VST plugin that make Ohm Studio scanning crash (and you probably have), you'll need to make a new VST plugins folder and make the Ohm Studio scans it. Follow theese instructions :
Create a new folder called "VST-OhmStudio" in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/
Edit (user) ~/Library/Preferences/com.ohmforce.Studio.plist file with "Property List Editor" tool (in Applications/Utilities)
Edit root>root>WrapVST>vst_path_list property and put this on : /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST-OhmStudio
If you don't have Properties List Editor, don't try to edit it. Post here.
Then, launch the OhmStudio application. It should work but your will have no VST plugins (only tape should appear in your gear list). If you want to add some plugins, copy paste some .vst files from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST-OhmStudio.
Note that we don't manage sub-folders within VST folder. So you have to put vst file in root VST folder.
I click Play, but the Play head doesn't move
Either the Ohm Studio audio output is not configured or the audio engine is crashed (audio engine is in a separate process).
In the first case, open the inspector (cmd+alt+i) and click on Configure Audio Hardware and configure it.
To know if the Ohm Studio is crashed, go in the Activity Monitor, and check the the OhmStudioGuest process is running.
If it is not running, it most probably crashed. Send us a report (see how to report a bug).
I have some recurrent crash, how to reset the Ohm Studio ?
First, it may be your session that is corrupted. Try with another session.
To reset any Ohm Studio client settings, please process as follow :
Then, redownload OhmStudio installer (available from your dash board http://beta.ohmstudio.com/ then login and click on dashboard) and install again. Warning : If you used a specific VST folder, you need to edit ~/Library/Preferences/com.ohmforce.Studio.plist as told in first point before to launch again.
I have a plugin "LinPlug RMIV for Tracktion" that warns "only works with Tracktion" so when Ohm client tries to load the plugin is gets stuck in a loop. I have created a folder called "VST-OhmStudio". I don't have Plist editor intalled at this time to edit the Plist. Please advise if there's another work around. Thank you!
The "Property List Editor" is a program packaged with Apple Developer Tools. You can find the Developer Tools on your mac osx dvd or you can download it from apple.com.
I had deleted the developer tools a couple months back as I needed to reclaim some disc space. If there's a work around planned let me know. If not I'll look into downloading the package again. I just wish Apple would allow downloading the Plist editor on it's own. If you know how to do that please let me know. Thanks.
